Pilates

Pilates is a series of excercises that creates balanced muscle develpment, strong deep core muscles, and stretches while working the muscle. Many Pilates exercises are used for physical therapy rehabilitation, but the method is also used by many professional athletes to maintain strength around their joints to prevent injury. Studio 6 offers classes on Pilates reformers, as well as private lessons on the Cadillac and Exo Chair.

GYROTONIC® Method

GYROTONIC® exercise sequences are composed of spiraling, circular movements, which flow together seamlessly in rhythmic repetitions, with corresponding breathing patterns. With GYROTONIC® exercises, each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. Yoga

Yoga is far more than physical Asana (movement). It is a mental and spiritual practice as well. Classes are mat based and will help you build strength and flexibilty while also helping you honor where you are in your practice on any given day. Studio 6 offers classes for beginners as well as challenging practice for regular yogis in a variety of class genres.

Prenatal & Baby Yoga

Prenatal classes are designed to safely guide you through a practice for mind, body and energetic spirit. It is a blessing to slow down and connect with your breath, building ojas and resiliency for life, labor and, furthermore, for motherhood. Prenatal Yoga can give you an opportunity to feel grounded and calm despite tremendous transitions occurring physically and spiritually during pregnancy. We use movement and postures to stretch and strengthen as baby and belly grow. Prenatal Yoga also offers a supportive community of others going through a similar yet unique experience and thus space to share and learn from each other. Safe for all levels, and at any stage of pregnancy.

Baby yoga is for baby and their caregiver…mom or dad or grandma or nanny. Start when baby is 4-6 weeks old and continue up to the age of crawling. We start with yoga and massage techniques for babies to aid in better sleep, digestion and early motor skills. Then a gentle yoga practice with and without baby including special focus on postnatal healing and recovery. Bring two blankets, one for laying baby on, and one for swaddling. We feed and diaper babies right in class. It is not about the perfect yoga pose…It’s about time with your baby.
